    Time for new gloves

Anyone know the brand/model gloves I see many of the MotoGP riders wearing that feature BIG pads over the top of the hand, just behind your first row of knuckles? Flipping through a couple street catalogs I can't find anything similar. Given I'm now two for two, two Aprils, two hand injuries, with the first one reducing my dexterity noticeably... I'd like to get a bit more serious on my gear for my hands.

Edit: No DB, I will not introduce you to either April.

This might be the first time I'm happy to hear that.

I know Capirossi's are special made for him due to some hand injuries in the past. not sure i've ever seen anything like that available for the rest of us.

Nice shot! Berik shows Capi sporting the same gloves in blue on their site... and fails to list them anywhere else. That's what I want though, my hands will not take much abuse, in both instances a nice fat pad like that would have helped immensely.

The Spidi Penta gloves look like they have quite a bit of padding on the back of the hand, although not as nearly as much as Capirossi's. I almost bought a pair last fall, but I wanted to be able to try them on first...

I don't know about those padded gloves but I really liked A* GP Pro or the GP tech gloves. Best gloves I have tried on yet.

Then again, I am probably the last guy to listen to. I've used my gloves through 6 crashes and they were only $19. They hardly show it... maybe I land on my head more than my hands, haha.

+1 on the Astars They can be had between $100 and $230.

Whatever you get, make sure you have good wrist protection. Just look at my avatar which was a result
of an incident only hours after trying on the new $200 GP-A gloves I should have bought.

For around $60 I like the Cortech Scarab R.R. I think it's the best of the cheaper gloves.

    Opted for Held Titans
    http://www.heldusa.com/titan.html

Got a pair on order through S&C, hopefully they'll arrive in time. They're basically improved Phantoms, with a pinky bridge like the AStars. The AStars looked good, but I've heard too many complaints that the stitches just fall apart. The only complaint I've heard for Helds, cost, so after trying the Phantoms, and hearing about the Titans, my mind was finally made up.

Should be interesting breaking them in, I've always sized my gloves like shoes, snug fit but no pressure anywhere. Miles was big on finding the smallest glove I could bear to put on, going one half size smaller to confirm I was at the limit, and buying that way with a plan of stretching them as part of breaking them in...

What's the pinky bridge get you?

    Protection in a getoff?

yeah. you're little finger is pretty weak if you slam it into the ground (or part of the bike) so attaching it to the ring finger makes both of them stronger in the event of a getoff.

another vote for A* GP Pros.
