    Tire Warmers

Anyone have experience with warmers that are not ChickenHawk? I've seen several brands out there that are less money...is the quality really that different?

    Re: Tire Warmers

Some are a pain becaue you ave to wrap a blanket over the tire before you put the warmer on...

Go to the wera board and get a used set.

I have an extra set of chickenhawks that I might let go...

Before I go nuts tracking down warmers, are they absolutely required? I'll be running a Pilot Race front (soft, the only one available in my size) and an older but as yet never heat cycled Pirelli Sport Demon in back. My Pilot Roads did great sans warmers on my ST3 for two track days, but I've never dealt with race tires, and I was hoping some heat would hep the older Demon in back stay in the game.

your first race weekend do not worry about them. you will have so much running through your head its one less hassle for you to do.

T2 tire warmers are where it's at... temp control and just over $300 bucks a set.

do it quick though, almost completely out of stock of the dual temps - digital temps are gone

I've got a new set of dual temps I picked up last week, I haven't even taken them out of the duffel bag yet. I'll let you know how I like em after this week-end.

    Re: Tire Warmers

I borrowed a pair of Joel's last year after my chickenhawks died on me....I was sold on the woodcraft warmers instantly and bought a set of the dual temps for this season.

    +1 on the woodcrafts

    Re: Tire Warmers

I tried TyrSox last year, the cheapest you can get. Lasted me all year and did just fine, aside from the external covering you needed to put on separately. Last race weekend, before the last 125GP, i noticed the front tire was cold.. the thing had melted itself and shorted. poo.

This year I'm opting to go with Battle factory, which are more like the lower end chicken hawks. I would be all over the WoodCraft ones, except they dont make any for 125GP bikes.

    Re: Tire Warmers

love my woodcraft digitals. easy to use and super thick.
i've had one short on me, awesome customer service.
i also shattered the control on one (my fault, don't ask), again awesome customer service.

i think the fact they are sold out speaks for itself.

i've also heard PD is excellent, but when i tried to get a set customer service sucked and they were behind in manufacturing, hence i ended up with woodcraft. never looked back
