Looks like I will be trying out the new setup in the rain tomorrow. Hopefully the track dries out enough to scuff in the new tyres. Well it will be good practice for rain races.
Anyone else going to BCM's track day tomorrow?

Damn good! No rain all day and the new setup feels very good. Kudos to Peter Kates at GMD. I didn't touch anything from what he gave me and it seemed fine to my inexperienced knowledge.Originally posted by bentbryan

Respring/revalve the forks and do the "sweet numbers" to the suspension. That way I have a good starting point and can focus on my riding more than the bike. The bike is fine I'm the one who needs the work/adjustments. Must be my engineering background, but eliminating variables is the goal.Originally posted by OreoGaborio

sounds good to me.
My EX is lookin alright. The P.O. (Johnny Valvestem) weighs about as much as I do, so i don't really have to worry bout the suspension settings... in fact I didn't touch a thing on the suspension while i was at VIR... it worked pretty well for me as-is.
Only changes I might make are to the clip-on positions and seat height... I might add some padding into the seat to get me up over the bike a little more... feels weird riding IN a bike as opposed to ON a bike.
I think this weekend is gonna go pretty well![]()

The cushy seat on the EX always bothered me. Not only do you sit deep in it, but it numbs feedback to the buns, which gets important as you reach the limits.
Chris B. had a nice TZ250 tail section that loooked great on the EX, and gave that sitting-on-a-board feeling that makes a bike feel like a real racer.
Of course, his bike chattered like a jack-hammer, so the race seat was knocking your teeth together in the turns.
