Well I went up and did the penguin school on friday with the intentions of sticking around on saturday to do the rookie race and one maybe two other races to get me license. I went through the penguin school pretty good, and could feel myself getting faster around the track.
Towards the end of the day I was really pushing my limits and doing pretty good for my first time (im sure slow by comparison). I finished up the day with no incidents and had a great time.
I was all set to register for the races on Sat and Sun when I got a little surprise. I didnt realize there was a 110 dollar fee for getting your race license. After taking into account my finances I realized that I could not swing the 300 dollar day for sat. With license, suit rental, race fees, gas, food I had to let this one slide.
I did get my certificate and will be back up there next month to do the rookie race and get my license. Racing is expensive but so much fun Im definitely hooked and Ill be up there next month for sure so look for the guy with the blue R6 with go all over it.
oohhh yeaaahh.. 110 for the license... oops![]()
Glad ya had fun out there bro, that's what really counts
I think i've seen you at Tony's Trackdays, no?I remember a "GO!!!!" R6 at a few of his events.

Yea the 110 for the license kinda put it over the top for me. I could have charged it on the credit card but then that bill would have really hurt once it came in. I had a great time at the track.
Ive never done a tonys track day before actually the penguin is the only one Ive done. I would guess its the guy who I bought the bike from you saw at tonys. Hes runnin a yellow 06 r6 this year.
I figure next month I can do the 110 for the license and 70 for the races and any other charges without a problem but that together with the penguin school would have made the weekend over 650 dollars. Im sure as we get close to the next race Ill be posting up more.
I took a ride around the infield to see if I could find any bikes that looked familiar on here but no luck. Ill make sure to catch up with a few of you next time.
they dont pro rate that fee? the season is half over... the license should be half as much.
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

"License fee for 2006: $110, $75 after July 1." - from the LRRS homepage.

(i just bought one in white)
Feel free to check out one of our events if you don't do the racing thing... or even if you do but promise to chill out.
Yea man the ridgeline is like purpose built for hauling bikes/racing. I packed up so much crap into that truck and still had plenty of room for more. I was able to fit my tools, extension cords, work lights, jumper cables, food, drinks, etc in the trunk under the bed then load the bike up and use the 6 tie down points to make it rock solid. Slid the ramps in and bungeed those along the side.Originally posted by 35racer

I put all the good stuff I didnt want outside or specail care of in the back after folding up the seat. Plenty of room for my helmet, boots, stand, clean clothes.
I might check out one of your track days in the near future, you dont gotta worry about me trying to race because I know Im not that good yet. Even if I was trying to race id probably be slower than other ppl who werent racing. Right now Im just trying to get comfortable on the track and improve my skills.
