Ahh. my bad. I misread the rule book:

Novice to Amateur - A minimum of 10 races, and an index of .500 or better. A rider that does not meet these criteria may,
upon the completion of an additional 10 races, request advancement at which time his history will be scrutinized.
Any novice rider that has the minimum number of races and an index of .750 or better will be automatically advanced for
the following year.

better thanks, my shoulder and elbow seem interested in leaving the union of body parts. just feelin my age. bike sale fell thru after the deposit check bounced and no returned calls so its going back on market. Its painted orange/white, replaced sliders, peg, gauge cluster and fixed Arrow can, its looking pretty good. maybe I'll keep it..... It'll be at the track for sale by the bathrooms if not gone by the 3rd
