Windshield fabrication?

The best price I've been able to find for a sharkskinz windscreen is about $85 before shipping. The stock SV screen isn't even close to fitting. It looks to be a pretty simple piece. I was eyeballing a piece of 1/8" thick lexan. Has anyone tried to bend their own? How'd it come out?

I used to make windscreens on my racecars out of 1/8 lexan. It can be bent in a brake to a pretty good angle with out braking..

I looked for a deal on 1 of those over last winter and never saw a used one anywhere. I just bought if from Sharkskinz.

Kitt -sharkskin SV 1st gen bodywork uses a windscreen that is made by zero gravity for sharkskinz. ( their own part #)
