    02 Bandit 1200 -- Mystery plug

    Hey hey

So, I just purchased a 2002 Suzuki Bandit 1200S. The speedo/tach do not work (analog needles) but the gauges light up and gear positions light up. Upon quick inspection I noticed that there was a plug dangling near my cluster (shown here)

Just wondering if this plug is related to my speedo/tach issue, where it plugs into, (and if its under the cluster) the easiest way to get to it.

I have that floating my in fairing as well, I want to say it's a carb heater or something stupid like that. If the cluster was unplugged, nothing would work. To get into the cluster, you pretty much have to remove the whole front fairing.

I feel like I had this same problem once as well... my memory sux, but I feel like it might have been a fuse. Checked 'em?

Ah, yes, that seems familiar. Or maybe it was a relay connector was loose? Seems to me I ended up taking half the rear plastics and grab handles off to get my ham-fists in there. I recall swearing being involved, although that is not unusual.

I really impressed my friends the cold October night at 10pm when I had an electrical issue and ripped the rear section off the bike in 10 minutes. Diagnosed the issue and had it buttoned up in a total of 35 minutes or something.

Nah, haven't checked any fuses or relays yet. I've been slackin'.

I'm still trying to find a good service manual for download. The only thing I've found so far is exploded diagrams of everything (sort of a parts catalog).

    A) Fri - Mon, that's a whole weekend there hoss
    B) Cheater!

OP: I'd start with the fuses and connectors in the tail of the bike. I'm probably wrong, but it's worth checking.
