    03 R6 missing bolt

So, after taking my newly acquired r6 out for a little ride yesterday I noticed I'm missing a rather large bolt. It appears to be a bolt connecting parts of the frame together. I have attached a pic with the bolt missing and a link to the parts diagram. I believe it is #18 on the diagram. Can someone please verify I am looking at the correct bolt and what store might have it in stock? I have lost almost all faith in GBMs service dept, seeing how they "inspected" the bike prior to delivery yet my brake lights didn't work, all the fairings were missing 1/2 the fasteners and I'm missing a huge bolt that holds the frame together. I missed it it too, but I was blinded by excitement.

    Re: 03 R6 missing bolt

Having some technical difficulties on my end with the viewer linked, but how bout this one instead: http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/...5649#sch254121

You're looking at #18 in the link above? The easy solution is to pull the one on the other side out, and go to Ace Hardware or HD/Lowes. Just make sure that won't cause stuff to come apart. Rule of thumb, Ace usually has a bigger selection of bolts. All 3 should have a tool in the isle to measure bolt length and thread pitch. The tricky part is the one you need looks like it really should have a precise amount of thread and amount of unthreaded. You could also try Fastenal. There's one in Hyannis. I've also paid the price and bought the OEM bolt through BikeBandit (with a larger order of other stuff) just so I'd have exactly the right one and didn't want to spend the time searching.

    Re: 03 R6 missing bolt

When I got my F4, I noticed two bolts like that missing, one on each side. I'm assuming at one point, a previous owner had installed frame sliders there, and another owner removed them, without replacing the original bolts.

In my situation with the F4, they weren't the same length bolt on each side. But the ronayers.com parts fiche had the descriptions as "Bolt, Flange, M10x65" and "Bolt, Flange, M10x50" so I was able to find properly sized replacements.

The fiche for the 03 R6, the description is just "Bolt, Hexagon Socket Head", and it looks like #18 is the left side and #23 is the right side, so there is probably a difference in size or length.

That's my guess on the frame slider as well. I'm gonna try to match it up with something at true value or fastenal, I had to that on my cb350 last year.
