'05 GSXR 1000 exaust question

I just recently bought a '05 GSXR-1000K5. It already had the aftermarket exaust "Yosh TRS" slip on. (I wanted the black/red and this place was the only one around that did not want to overcharge me for it the exaust only cost an extra 300 and no installation fee because they did not want to take it off and it is the carbon so not a bad deal) I was wondering if I am sacrificing any preformance or not. I have gotten many different answers. The most frequent was that I will lose some low end because of the extra fuel need because of the lower back pressure but gain a bit on the high end because of the increased flow. I just dont know that much about this. I am a newbe when it come to this stuff.

seriously, do you find a lack of power with that bike anyways in either top end or low end? besides that exhaust looks a ton better than the triangle bazooka that comes on them.

... "05 GSX-r 1k" and "lack of power" are two phrases should never be associated directly with one another unless you're a seasoned racer.

I feel your pain. The 12R just doesn't have any balls under 2000 RPMs .

I highly doubt you will gain or lose enough power with a slipon alone that it will be noticeable with your ass dyno. Remember, gaining or losing 2 HP on a 160HP bike is much less significant than +-2HP on a 100HP bike.

Changes to the exhaust or intake system should be accompanied by a remap of the fuel delivery in order to wring out every last HP otherwise there is a potential to not make the full HP that could be available or to even lose HP from stock.

you could always put the stock pipe back on and see how it sounds and feels, the yoshi is just a slip on so it should take all of 15 mins.

    '05 GSXR 1000 exaust question

Yeah, probably a lot of bike for a new person. I am not going to argue but as long as you have good balance and control (and a brain) then you are ok. I have seen plenty of accidents (worked as an EMT on a fire department and now a nurse at Manchester) Bikes are easy to ride anyhow. I have driven many different things land, sea, and air and never had a problem.

just make sure the "throttle management control system" is working properly and the nut that connects the bars to the seat doesnt get too loose
