07 GSXR 750 stock stack removal question

I picked up a set of velocity stacks for my bike and I am having a bit of a hard time getting the stock ones out. I dont want to destroy them in case I want to reinstall before selling it in the future. Are there any tips or tricks to getting these things out and the new ones installed?

thought they just lifted up. how do the new ones look? do they have hose clamps or anything on them that would look like you need to install them a specific way?

Nope the new ones look like they just push in and the ridges on the outside of the rubber seat holding them in place. Ive cracked the glue, pushed, pulled, yanked, and even gave it a little bit of a reach around and cant get the stock ones out. Someone mentioned there might be some screws that clamp everything in. I have the manual download and cant really see where they would be. Im close to just selling them and keeping the stock ones lol. The bikes fast enough for me as is but I figured id swap them prior to tuning later in the week.

i just checked the manual as well and couldnt find anything useful. have you tried a little heat around the base? maybe there's some glue on there that's really stuck on there.

Nope havent tried that, the glue on the ourside / top was very easy to bypass. It essentially popped right off. I will give it another whirl tomorrow and likely give up at that point Unless an easy way pops up haha

    Thanks man.

i've never removed them on either of my GSXR's, so i'm just thinking of ways i'd try to remove the OEM ones.

You should swap yours out with a shiny set of Factory Pro Velocity Stacks, I know where you can get a set thats never been installed, 10% off and even delivered! I hear they are an easy install too :p

I could have sworn I saw a step by step guide online, maybe on gixxer.com Honestly man, aftermarket velocity stacks add like 1-2 horsepower from what I remember seeing.

Oh who cares. It's not like you will ever finish the rookie race.
