    axle nut question

I need to remove my front wheel/tire in order to install a new tire.
Does anyone know what size the axle nut is on a 2009 zx6r.
I will be making my own axle nut tool, but need to know what size it is. I have the repair manual, but it does not tell you what size it is.
    anyone?

Try a spark plug socket with an extension stuck in it backwards (in the female side)
Works perfect on many bikes. I don't know about that one in particular..

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

    Re: axle nut question

Get a cheap caliper gauge and measure it. Then you know the size and have a handy tool you'll use again.

    Re: axle nut question

Here is more info on the sparkplug socket technique. I posted this a while ago:

Sears does carry the tools you need. I bought my sparkplug socket setup from them. Look for a half-inch drive sparkplug socket that has a 13/16" hex head on the drive end. Pull the rubber out and make sure the square drive portion is square on the inside of the socket (some are round). Then get a half-inch ratchet extension to put throught he inside of the socket. 13/16" is approximately 21mm which is more than adequate to loosen up the front axle. Since it uses a normal half-inch drive, you can use a torque wrench to tighten it back up.

    Re: axle nut question

Nice, thanks for the detail there.
FWIW, the 3/8" drive 13/16" spark plug socket that came in my craftsman kit worked well too.

Very surprised the bike's tool kit doesn't come with one.
