Measured from the brush contact points?

Measure there, and directly on the flywheel itself. I've got to dig to find the numbers but i want to say 4 to 6 ohms is the ballpark you're looking for?

Are we going from the inner and outer part of the flywheel? I cant get a ohm reading across it at all. Ill go try again.

Sorry, meant rotor, and between the two slip rings where the brushes contact.

I have the two brush contact points, no impedance there. its the same chunk of copper. as far as my ohm meter is telling me its all one big mas of connectivity every where i can measure. I might be misunderstanding you. This shit is out of my comfort level...

I'll see if I can find a pic, but based on what you're saying it sounds like your rotor is toast. No resistance means there is a short, which means that rotor doesn't setup a magnetic field, preventing the stator coil from generating any current.

See them big, purty copper rings? That's what you need to measure across. You want to see 4 to 5 ohms of resistance. Anything less and that rotor is shot.

Dead short in there somewheres for sure, thats why you can't coax any charge out of it.

Goddam it... So go to the salvage yard with a meter, find one that registers 6 ohm and buy it? WTF is this not in the manual as a possible problem when you get no charge. Damn you josh being smarter than Hayes...
