    95 Ninja starter opinions

Well just thought I would get the general opinion of the group. Well got to work on the bike again. Made sure the battery was charged and went through everything that I could think of and everything looked good untill I decided ok I should pull the starter. So I go down to pull the lead and the thing is rusted to the terminal stud. So I wrench on it a little harder and it busts loose or so I thought. I keep turnig it about halfway and realize the whole stud is turning with the wire still rusted in place. Now I haven't had much experience with bike starters but this doesn't seem right. So what does everyone think. I'm sayin the starter is shot. The more the merrier.
    Thanks in advance,

Yup, your starter is shot, or at least the end with the battery wire is. I think you can get all the parts for it separately so it may be repairable. That said, a used one ought to be easy to find, Kawasaki likes parts bins and uses the same parts on many bikes.

That happened on my '79 Honda 400. Just opened up the starter, saw that the braided line was snapped off on the inside of the stud. Soldered it with high quality silver solder and it never was an issue again for 20k miles.

They only sell on ebay, there's no parts counter there anymore. They are on route 27 next to Cumberland Farms (they are part of Argo Cycle).
