    AL or Steel clutch kit?

OK I am going to be replacing the clutch on the bike and have this option.
    Steel basket and steel plates
    Steel basket and AL plates

I am leaning more toward the AL plates due to the fact they wont wear the fingers on my basket down like the steel plates. But will the plate fingers wear down at twice the speed because of the steel basket?
The AL clutch kit is only 20 more bucks than the steel but if I can get a longer life out of the basket that would save me 150 bucks I don't wanna spend when a new clutch is in need again.
To purchace a billet AL basket is crazy $$$$$ so I am not even going there

    AL or Steel clutch kit?

Too bad, the Alum basket will allow the engine to turn up faster.
Steel plates are more durable, alum are less weight, so it's a trade off...The alum plates won't wear notches on the basket fingers, and should fair well....But watch for warping...

Just due to longevity, I'd go with steel plates. Obviously, you'd be replacing the aluminum ones sooner. Weight shouldn't really be an issue for typical street use....
