Its too damn rainy anyway... I was going to take a ride down today and try swapping regulators but I got tires of riding in monsoons

haha yea..monsoons and tornado warnings are the not quite the ideal riding weather.
Thanks again for everyones help..much appreciated.

I just took another look at TJ's weird busted charging system
It's still not charging, but I'm having a hard time finding out what the voltage is supposed to be at each point in the system.
Voltage at the battery was 12.19 with the bike off, and about the same at idle. It would go up just slightly at high RPM peaking at about 12.4 but its not enough to keep the battery charged.
There are 3 wires coming out of the stator all matching yellow. 2 of the 3 read about 3.3V at idle and climbed to just over 4v at high RPM. The third never read above .3v. All 3 are 0v with the bike turned off. Anyone know what the output of the 3 stator wires is supposed to be?

you have to meter 2 wires at a time.
Like checking a 3 phase voltage.

im not sure he switched it over...I dont know.
Im getting pretty burnt out on trying to figure this electrical crap out.

dont mention it, If you need anymore help with moving anything or setting anything up let me know.
Tim and I found something to take care of the oil leak in the yamaha so I have that (HOPEFULLY) running safely again. So I have something to ride until i sell it mid Sept.

I got probably one more run, and the place is empty, so we are good!
Now we gotta sort thru it all and put it away!
You can come over when I fire up the sound system!
Then the neighbors are REALLY gonna love us!
3000 watts of surround system on the 3rd floor, I don't think I'm ever gonna be able to really use it.
Gonna have to wait till we buy a house I guess.
Gimme a holler towards the end of the week....

As I recall I left it in DC... oops, yea of course the power coming of the stator would be AC. (does that multimeter even have AC volts?) Measuring across 2 of the pins to the stator yielded 0v but the third acted the same as a ground. What I was wondering is if the stator is 3 coils, and all the wires should have the same voltage/resistance reading, or if 2 are coils and the third is a ground. 1 of the 3 wires from the stator acts like like a ground (no measurable resistance, and no voltage running or not) I'm not sure if thats a dead coil or if its supposed to be the ground.
