damn thing wont start. i had the battrery out for the last month sitting on the charger, in the mean time i thought i would make sure she was ready for the track day and took apart the rear end, cleaned all the old oil outta the rear from this spring, put on new chain and sprockets, cleaned the air filter, changed the oil, rewired the tail lights and put it back together... i didn't touch anything that should have afffected the starting smarts. but it just cranks and cranks... like its not getting gas or something? i checked the spark... the plugs are dry... what am i missing??? there are no warning lights on or anything either? does somethin need to be reset somewhere?

sorry I just saw this post...
Check yer fuel pump and wiring...
Does the pump reside in the tank? Did you forget to plug something in?

funny you should ask... once again Jesse from Seacoast Sport Cycle straightened me out with just a phone call...

it was a tip over sensor that i put in upside down.
stupid thing is mounted to the battery box, i must have taken it out twenty time before now, always putting it back the right way completely by chance, without even knowing what the fuck it was. Just looking at it, i thought it was a relay or something, never noticed that little up arrow. fucking gumption traps.

    THANKS JESSE!

heh, a gumption trap. I love that phrase... that book has given me more inspiration in times like that that I could have ever imagined... I need a new copy I have read it so many times

    Cheers,

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
