I need a battery for my 85 VF1000R and I'm having a hell of a time finding the correct one. I've seen different websites listing different sizes and ratings.
Help?

From what I can tell the UB16B-A seems to be for you.
Do you have the old one? Measure LWH. Check the location of terminals (+ on left or right). Look in the manual for CCA and any other specs. Then you can compare.
Yuasa is confusing as they have conventional SLA, factory filled AGM, and user fill AGM, with similar PN’s.
I fucking love VF1000Rs...let me know if you ever want to sell it.
I recently found out there is, in fact, method to their madness. A part number ending in -BS means "bottle supplied" electrolyte, i.e. you have to add the acid yourself. The rest of the part numbers just denote size and terminal layout:

Garrett, Yuasa says you want a YB16B-A for your bike.

FWIW earlier this week I searched for a battery on BikeMaster.com, got the battery number, then googled cheapest place to buy with shipping (walmart of all places) and the next day it was at my door exact fit.
