After 5 days on new brembo z04 pads, I am noticing a real decrease in stopping power. How many days are you guys getting out of a set?
Is this a short time for pads? Could my problem be glazing?
Also, any recommendations for a great pad?

1/2 to 1 season on the front stock Brembo pads. DP's about the same and the SBS's that are in now seem to be wearing the same as the others. Three seasons on the rear and they're still what Ducati put in in 04.

I've had super good luck with Vesrah's (both RJL and XX) pads for many years. Power on demand - no warping or bending of the backing plates.
Another vote for the CL60's You can get them from spieglerusa.com. I was forced to use a set of Performance Friction pads last season and they didn't give anywhere close to the stopping power that the CLs give me.
In the PF's defense, it might have been due to having CL material on my rotors and I didn't have a lot of time to bed in the PF pads.
I like my EBC EPFAs, but it seems I might be in the minority.

How many days are you guys getting on the vesrah rjl?
The brembo z04 that came in my bike were new. At 300 a set I expected them to last a lot longer!
They are not close to the markers, but the stopping power is seriously decreased. Any thoughts?
its seasons now for me.......breaks are still nasty and will flip the bike if im not carefull

this.
been running Vesrah SRJL-17s for a couple years now. I have a set of XXs to use when I need them. not sure if I screwed up when ordered if were mailed the wrong ones but I wanna try them anyway.
really depends on how often you're riding and how hard you are on the brakes. Shawn says he gets a season. but I get maybe 3/4 of a season. I'd say he uses them more/harder per lap than me but I rode more often (more track days and more races).
3M makes these resurfacing discs. I'd go real easy with them though. I've used a paint stripper disc drill attachment in the past. worked great to clean any residue from old pads off. http://3mcollision.com/3m-roloc-brak...pack-1410.html

i used to go through 2.5 sets of pads a season. but that's 40 races, 4(ish) track days, and 3(ish) friday race practice days.
what i would suggest doing is....measure the material when you buy a new set of whatever you get with digital calipers. every 2-3 track days, take the pads out and measure how much material is left. while the pads are out, it wouldnt hurt to clean your caliper pistons![]()

I finally got a chance to run DP's new race pad this past Monday.
Color me impressed.

Too much unobtanium? You can't eliminate reasons on the internet. Take the pads out and inspect for glazing. While you're at it might as well scuff up the pads and rotors and start again. Pads, like tires tail off in their effectiveness with use. Could be as simple as that. Some brands/compounds are longer lasting that others. I would try cheaper pad recommended her in personally.
I had a similar issue last year...turns out I was not completely closing the throttle when braking into turn 1Sounds stupid, but you may want to make sure you are rolling all the way off if you can't find a problem with the brakes.
