What is the secret password to get C60s? They are not listed on the Spiegler site or at SBTG, just the C59.

Quick question... If I use contact cleaner (instead of brake cleaner) and scotchbrite pad to clean the rotors, is it ok to clean them while mounted or do I need to remove them?
Also, best way to bed in pads on the track?
Contact and brake cleaner are interchangable. Carb cleaner is not a valid substitute as it doesn't evaporate fully leaving a residue.
Heat cycle them.....like this but I usually just go out and kill it.
1
Start your motorcycle. Warm it up to proper operating temperature before beginning. Travel to an out-of-the-way location, away from other traffic to proceed with the process.
2
Accelerate to approximately 60 mph. Firmly apply the brakes to decelerate down to 10 mph. Do not come to a complete stop and do not lock the brakes. Speed back up to 60 mph and repeat this process for a total of eight stops.
3
Repeat the process of eight stops if you are using performance brakes or simply wish to ensure proper bedding-in. However, cruise around long enough to allow the brakes to completely cool first.

Warming up your bike is part of the brake pad bed-in process?
I usually ease into it a slower than that.
I'll do ~40mph to 10mph with normal street braking force a few times, then a little faster & a little harder.

Yeah. This. Been running Vesrah pads for a long time (RJL I believe) and been very happy with them. But in the name of science, I'm interested in trying something new. CL's catalog shows the C60 as the current "race" offering.. but none of the retailers seem to offer them, only the C59. C59 is the old compound, no? Wasn't the switchover like 2 years ago now? What gives?
Thought maybe this was a gen 1 vs 2 SV thing. But I've searched for both gen SV and only found C59 available.
Hey RSP, I'm ready to support your vendor. Who do I email?
the 60's are a couple of years in the making. companies are probably looking to offload old stock. i was not a fan if the 59's. the 59 we around only a year or two.
i can easily get a year of TD and racing on a set of pads.

SBTG actually has old C59 stock. If you order from Spiegler, their site says C59, but they are C60 stock. not sure why they haven't changed, since the C60 pads have been out for a couple of years now.
I actually like both. The C59 have more initial bite, but fade a little quicker.
^+1 agreed

Do you mind if I piggy back on this thread?
The Tiger 1050 ABS will need brake pads this season or before the next track day. Suggestions?

Phone. Call. Ewe.
You people don't get me at all, do you?
Real bro's just use their hands, ditch those silly calipers and grab that rotor like a man
FWIW, I ordered what was advertised as C59's from STG and received C60's.
