Broken Rearset

Any ideas on how to fix this? I'd like to do it myself in order to save some $$$. I have access to just about any tool and also MIG welder and Oxy/Acet but I havn't used MIG before. Any help would be much appreciated.

that kinda looks like aluminum at first glance, you'll need a talented welder to fix that if thats the case.

It is aluminum. It's actually the part of the frame that is broken. Here is a better pic.

if it were steel, i would grind those bastards off and fab up some new stronger bracket with the threaded eyelets/holes in the right place and weld the whole new braket right on and bolt up the rear set.

not sure if its that simple in aluminum, different metals need different things. you need someone that is more knowledgable in that metal.

I had that happen on my FZR. Well I got it that way.
I built it up with MIG and then redrilled and tapped.
It was only the bottom one and I ended up going with 6mm instead of the 8mm.

That is going to be tough Sorry
You could add a plate behind the frame and then some spacers to bring it back out that far. Kind of what Oreo_n2 was talking about?

I've got a friend up my way that can weld ANYTHING. Not sure if it'd be worth the haul for ya. But he'd probably do it for a big jug o' Jack...
