    Buell speedo/odo way off

My speedometer and odometer on the XB9 is way off, and seemingly getting worse.

I haven't dug into it all, just posting to see if others have experienced this.

If it's mechanical - it must be hydrostatic drive, because it "catches" on accel, then drops off at constant speed.

If it's electrical - I may have a battery issue or regulator issue since the same issue above, may be causing sufficient current on accel, but insufficient current to power that function at steady speed.

will post up findings when I get around to it, speak up if you've seen this.

Speedo sensor might have pooped. It's fairly common. Just forward of the front pulley. That's where I'd start.

while you're checking the sensor... i'd also follow the wiring back from the regulator and check the main connection. that connection can get hot and melt the plastic housing causing other issues. (happened to my 12)

The sensor is also magnetic . Try pulling it out and cleaning to see if it makes a difference before you buy a new one.
