Carb is fixed now. Runs like a champ..... as long as it's upright and not on it's side getting picked up 5 or 6 times.

yeah, carb clean and brake clean can be pretty brutal..

but on the encouraging side, i can still see after being dosed with both a couple times over the years

i did the same when i was rebuilding and cleaning the carbs on my CB. squirt in one jet came out the other straight stream o' carb cleaner right in the eye.

i must say lol it burned for 2 days lol.

a word of advice to all .....DONT DO THAT!!! lol

Haven't never experienced carb / brake cleaner, I can't comment on those. But wearing contacts? I'm quite careful with that stuff. I know the day is coming though, just waiting for it.

Oh, careful with toothpaste while applying it to toothbrushes. It stings like a bitch too.

Hey its still chemicals in the eye. Minty fresh eyes, while nice to have I guess, isn't exactly pleasant.

no doubt, but to put in a frame of reference you understand, take the toothpaste in the eye irritation and multiply it by about 10 times roughly.

Had brake fluid shoot into my eye once. Working in an auto shop, changing the calipers on my old car. Thought I had the banjo bolts tight enough, asked my buddy in the car to hit the brakes to check for leaks...ka-pow, nasty green fluid right at my retina.

The funny part was probably me flying across the garage to get to the wash sink, one eye open, the other cupped, and my free hand stiff-arming everyone in my way.
