    Carb Cleaning Question?

Ok got a quick question. I'm spending this rainy day at home getting my carbs all cleaned up. Now I notice what seems to be a little jet next to what I think is the main jet in the center. The jet I speak of is just to the left of it down in the hole. Now am I correct in thinking this is a jet? Now my main question is does it come out? I have flow through all other passages I can find but I'm pretty sure these are plugged. Any tips here would be great. This is my first time getting this involved with carb stripping. I included a photo for reference.

If you mean where I have indicated, YES they are Jets and if they are plugs your bike wont run well at all. If you don't have the right size cleaning wire, a wire wrap from bread bag will work. I would clean with soaking then run a wire through them.

Pilot jets. I have also used a snipped-off single strand from a wire brush.

Well pulled the pilot jets thanks guys and yep they were plugged tiny little suckers. Soaked them a few times in chem dip and wala I have light shining through. So buttoned the carbs back up after giving them one final dowsing with some carb cleaner spray and we'll see what happens when I put them back on hopefully tomorrow if everything goes well and by the grace of god she'll spring back to life.

    Re: Carb Cleaning Question?

After I get the pilot jets out I like to stick some fishing line through them and let them sit in the carb cleaner with the fishing line through it. Doesnt let them get gunked up and also when you blow them off, make sure you blow from the small side out to the big side.

Also..pull those A/F screws too if your cleaning the whole thing...Most have rubber o-rings on them. remember how many turns back they are though.
