I know this isn't the "proper" way to do it, but if you are cheap you can buy just two of the same vacuum gauges. You don't need to get the full 4 gauge sync tool. Sync 1+2, then 3+4, and then do 1/2 + 3/4.

I say take a ride out to Beverly and hook up with TLRMan. He's sorted out more carbs on this forum that anyone could probably remember. (including my severely bogging Blade this past spring.)

Take the ride and have it done. 2 hours is nothing compared to the performance gains you'll get having it done correctly the FIRST time.

    +10000000

You won't regret it. Mark is really easy-going and you get to learn stuff while you "help". I learned a bunch when he sorted out my CBR.

And he doesn't set a price or rate. When all is sad and done, he suggests to "make a donation". You can't beat a deal like that. And, you make a riding connection out in the the eastern part of the state.

    DO IT!

After TLRMan rebuilt my motor he was like "so how much do you want to pay me?"

I was like 'YOINK, BITCH! HERE'S A DALLAH, I'M OUTTIE!"

I don't know about a unicorn or Eskimo, but he does look a little like a leprachaun...and he'll make your carbs magically delicious

He is a great guy, Knows his stuff more than anyone else I have ever met. Gives you some great stories while he works and shows you what he is doing so you can learn from him. He is a very valuable friend to have around.

Speaking of which, I wouldnt mind getting my carbs synced and such on the yamaha Mark, Since I dont think the 954 will be up and running again this season with my luck.

I did this. It's probably not quite as accurate but it ran better than it did before so I was happy. Most annoying part is making sure the carbs still get fuel with the tank off the bike.

I bought a temporary fuel tank (read: plastic bottle and a hose) that I hang off the side.
