    Chain Grease

What type of chain grease do you use on your bike? Any major differences between some brands?

Spectro or Maxima chain wax. (The Maxima also doubles as cable lube)

With wax, make sure you heat the chain up before applying it, then let it dry. You get less fling that way.

Also, don't forget to clean your chain on occasion.

Most folks refer to it as "lube". More modern of a term than grease I guess.
I think a Kubota uses grease but a Ninja uses lube?

Personally, cleaning the chain every 10 days or so (ok, more like every 2 weeks) goes a long way for an extended life followed up with a quality chain lube or wax.

Just gave this a try... initial reaction is really good. Seems to have done a good job working it's way in and has had virtually no fling

most riders use lighter weight (viscosity) lubricants for their chains

grease is sticky and adheres dirt

my 920 takes 3 tubes of grease, the same kind you would pump into bushings on the front end of a truck or would use on heavey equipment, because the 920 has an enclosed chain, dirt is not a problem

on my exposed chain bikes, I use Automatic Transmission Fluid

Love this stuff. Costs 5 bucks a can at lowes. I put it on twice as often because it's such a thin layer, but man is it great.

Dries in seconds and its clear.

I run a scottoiler, ATF is high in detergent, and perfect viscosity
