    Chain riveter needed

    Anybody live or work near Boston that can loan me a chani rivetor tool for my new 530 chain? I only need it for Saturday so I can do my upgrade.

    Not going to be able to get up there but thanks for the offer. Have you ever done it with a ball peen hammer and a c clamp. I read some where that you can do it as long as you are careful to only slightly mushroom the heads and measure the master link thicknes.

    I trust the tool and nothing else.

    You wouldn't change your oil by punching a hole in the pan, would ya?

    Roll down a window in your car by throwing a brick through it?

    Cut down a tree in your yard by burning down the entire neighborhood?

    Get a clip link, it will be safer than riding around with cracked rivets...
