    Chain wax?

Do any of you have an affinity to a certain brand? I've heard good things about Bel Ray, but not sure if they're all the same. I refuse to patronize A1 Powersports in Manchester, so does Nault's carry anything good?

Go in and say where is your chain wax? When they point you to it, buy a bottle and apply to chain.

Hey are you related to a David Hansberry? He works here in one of the schools in IT...and he's also goofy looking and a nerd, so there's some resemblance...

    Nault's carry's Motorex 622 Strong.

    I sell it to them.

It's the BEST stuff out there and I sell quite a bit of it. I also carry Motul and Maxima Chain Wax but the Motorex gets the most repeat requests.

Also - try the chain clean. That stuff is awesome!

    Chain wax?

Wax is a thicker lubricant that stays on the chain longer and can rob you of some power through parasitic friction, but it gives you a longer lubrication interval.

Lube is anything that lubricates. If you were to make a Venn diagram of all the things you can put on your chain, chain wax would be a small circle within the larger Lube circle. (All chain wax is Lube but not all Lube is chain wax).

I usually get flamed for this but I use WD40 on my chain. There are a lot of old wives tales out there that says it is bad for your chain but in my experience that is certainly not the case and I have not been able to find any emperical evidence to prove otherwise.

    Chain wax?

I use to use WD-40 a lot. The issue is that you really have to stay on top of it, lubing each ride. I got sick of that and began using Chain Wax.

I then got sick of how goopy Chain Wax can get and switched to a good quality chain lube.

Now, I just bought a bike with a shaft drive. And my next bike will have a shaft drive.

I use the Honda Pro chain-lube; The one in the black, blue and white can. Cleaned w/ WD-40, toothbrush and patience.

    Chain wax caution.....

Word of caution to the guys who are thinking about going to chain wax.
From what I was told by a bunch of guys who have some authority on the subject, Once you use chain wax on your chain, you CAn't go back to using lubes like the HP hondalube because the stuff doesn't stick to the chain it just flings off...The Honda chain lube adheres to the chain best when the chain is warm after a ride otherwise it just flings all over your lower cowel and doesn't properly lube the O-ring chain...
