I found one of these brushes at the local bike shop
Motorcycle Chain Lube - webBikeWorld
It works great. Hits 3 sides of the chain at once. The article has some good info on chain cleaning too.
I use WD40, rotate the wheel while I spray on (chain should be warm, not hot), then scrub with the brush until I see the gunk spread across the chain, then wipe clean with high quality paper shop rags. Wash, rinse, repeat, until the chain is clean.
I find that cleaning the sprockets is a real pain in the ass though... but I've never taken off the rear wheel myself.
In the article posted above there is a section telling you why you shouldn't use WD40...they say to use kerosene or diesel.

if you read through here, you'll see some comments about WD-40 might stay in between the rivets and cause the lube/wax to not stick to the chain as well. There's also another comment about that Grunge Brush, which I actually bought recently too. I'm using that Chain Cleaner 611, and Chain Wax with the grunge brush
The Grunge brush works pretty well. I've found it helpfull to get a bunch of cheap dollar store type, stiff bristle tooth brushes.

I do it under the swingarm. Not sure why that guy did it above. Doing it below is better because you got less of a chance of shit spraying/dripping on parts of your bike.
