    Clutch hub removal

So I'm trying to remove the clutch hub on my ZX6R. Granted there is a special tool you can use to hold the hub while taking the nut off. I don't have one. I've seen others get the hub off by locking up the rear tire and using the drive train to keep the hub from spinning. I've tried that and am not having any luck. I'm using a breaker bar and the nut won't budge. I'm afraid I'll break something. I'm assuming it's a standard thread, not reverse thread nut (?). Does anyone have any other tricks to try before I go out and spend the money on the tool, which is probably not cheap.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for but I use an impact gun and it zips right off. No special lock up tool required.

The trick if you don't have the clutch hub holding tool is to get an air impact wrench.

Sometimes you can get lucky by taking a few steel clutch plates and clamping them together with a set of vise grip plyers. The plates are junk when you're done. Hope this helps. Good Luck...

    Thanks for the advice.
I borrowed an impact wrench and it worked great.
Of course, when I reassemble the clutch I'll need something to hold it so I can torque it correctly, but I guess I'll figure that out next week...
Maybe I'll have to pick up a few extra steel clutch plates and fabricate something.
