Do you have a multimeter DB? If so post the model.

Just bought it, if I need something different I could always return it.
That'll work perfectly, it's got a 10A mode.
What you'll need to do is take the negative lead off the battery. Put your meter in 10A amperage mode (You have to put the leads into the far left and middle hole), and put it between the negative lead of the bike and the negative terminal of the battery with the bike switched off. This will tell you what the bike is drawing as it sits. It should be damn near if not 0A. If it's not, you've got a short hiding in there that's drawing the battery down.
I had the same problem on my bike last summer. toasted stator. if the r/r checks out ok I'd check the stator next.

Step 1. Check the reading on Leezas original battery: 6.13
2. Check reading of MY battery that is now in her bike: 12.20
3. Unplug negative terminal of battery, reads: 10.54
4. Tried to do the link that Doc posted earlier, which is the same as her service manual, her connectors have 5 connections, not 3 as pictured. Not sure what that might be from, and not sure what to do next. Any ideas from posted so far, or a next step to take?
Oh and I tried to start the bike again, made one sickly groan and nothing after that.
Her battery is toast.
Your battery looks good.
I don't quite get the result when you unplug the negative lead... that's the reading in 10A DC Amps mode?! It can't be, no way your batt is going to read 12v hooked up to that kind of draw.
I'd probably replace the voltage regulator/rectifier if I were you!

Ok, battery in, only hooked to up to the positive lead, bike off.
Meter, one lead plugged into the left hole, the other lead in the middle/white hole. Dial turned to 10A setting, about 5 o'clock on the dial.
One lead touches the negative battery terminal, the other touches the bike's negative lead. That'll tell you how much juice the bike is drawing when it's off.
Second test: Battery cabled up, bike off. Wires in middle and right hole on meter like you were before, set to 20V, around 10 o'clock on the dial. One lead on the positive, one on the negative, note the voltage. Turn the bike on but don't try to start it, note the voltage. If it's still above 11.5v have Liza thumb the starter while you watch how far down the voltage drops. Don't bother trying for long unless the bike catches and runs right off.
If by some miracle the bike starts: Note the voltage at idle, and at 3500 RPM.
Step 1: negative off, jumps to .01 when first touched, then drops and sits at 0.00
2. Battery hooked back up
Bike off: 12.25
Bike on not running starts at 11.75 and drops constantly
Starter pushed, drops to about 4, tried a second time to double check, dropped to 3.
You need to get a real battery
Plus 1 for Walmart usually 2 grades like $30 or $60
You will need a battery tender. If you rarely use both bikes you can get the real one
and rig them up in parallel and it will take care of both.
Sell bikes buy boat or jet ski. The only hills and twisties are the overpasses
if Kurlon's test didnt show any measurable amperage being drawn from the bike when off, then it probably isnt a short in the bike, which leaves her battery as the issue or the voltage regulator which takes power from your stator, regulates it and charges the battery with it if I am not mistaken. So if any one of those three parts is f-ed then the bike wont go. If her bike took your good battery and drained its juice in only a day, the important question is was she riding it? If yes, then it sounds like its the stator or regulator, if no, then something else on the bike is killing the battery while it sits, which could be in the milliamps region and not show up on Kurlons 10A test setting.
If it isnt starting at all, then another thing it could be is the starter relay. Does the bike make a clicking noise when you try to start it? I know some bikes relays have a habit of going then the bike wont start, but if it is starting sometimes or with a fresh battery then that isnt it.
PS. I just got a new battery and starter relay for my Tuono. Battery is that YTX12-BS, cost like $69, and a starter relay costs like $40 for my bike. Just so you have some ideas of what those parts cost. Unsure of what the voltage reg or stator will run you, but I am sure that the reg is easier to swap than the stator (dont have to open the engine case). Although the stator isnt that hard.

Voltage drop isn't too bad when you turn the bike on, does the SV turn the headlight off till the bike starts or was that coming on too?
Voltage drop when you thumb the starter, either that battery is toast too, or dayuuuum... your starter is working overtime.
Get that battery out, and on a tender ASAP. No more playing till you've got a new battery that's fully charged.
I wouldn't recommend this at all, as you will tax the batteries a lot. They will never be the same voltage, so as one drops below the other, it will draw current from the other, and then they will switch, causing them to kill each other. This would work if the tender was always applying a voltage, but it isn't so it will kill both batteries.

Sometimes the acid levels get low. You can add distilled water to add some life back to it if charging fails. This works for BOTH sealed and non sealed batteries. Sealed batteries are no different except for the cap(s).

a battery droppin to 4v is toast. no questions asked. might even have a few deal cells. New battery and you should be good.

Replaced battery, replaced rectifier. Bike started right up as expected
After 3 hours battery voltage dropped from 12.70 to 12.68. Anything to be concerned with? Or fairly typical swing?
Also, tried the charging output inspection. Bike running, 5k RPM, voltage came up as 13.1. Service manual says it should be between 13.5-15.0v. Be concerned? Look for another problem? Or close enough.
What's the voltage at idle? 13.1 seems low...
