Doing a few projects and have a bunch of questions

I picked up some new goodies and now I'm in the process of working on a few things at once. Check out the pictures I have taken to help explain some of my questions at this link. http://photos.yahoo.com/number1gsxxr

As you can see I picked up a set of Galfer SS brake lines on ebay. I got a wicked good deal on them but as such they were opened. Can anyone tell me if I am missing anything (pic 016)? I don't think I am but I just want to be sure.

I pulled the brake pads and the manual says to look for a grooved line as the wear indicator. All I can see are two slots that I have marked with red arrows in pic 006. Are these the wear indicators? Something tells me that I have plenty of pad left.
In pic 019, I have marked with red arrows two "scratches". Are these normal? Are my rotors possibly warped? Assuming I have plenty of brake pad left, should I just get new (better non-stock) pads since I am upgrading the lines anyways?

I also got a new rear shock. How should I mount the reservoir body? I was thinking about using two SS hose clamps to attach it somewhere in the vicinity of where it is in pic 013. Any better ideas on where to attach it?

Oh ya it's a '01 gsxr 600 if that helps. Thanks in advance for putting up with my barrage of inexperienced questions.

    - Alex

Looks good to me, you've got a dual banjo bolt there which will replace the single banjo line which normally comes off the master cylinder and goes to a junction somewhere near the triple clamps, instead you'll run two lines directly from the master cylinder, one to each caliper.

You'll use three crush washers at the master cylinder: Thread a crush washer onto the banjo bolt, then one banjo fitting, then another crush washer, then another banjo fitting, then a final crush washer. This should leave you with two, one for each fitting to the calipers.

If I see it right, you have what they call "superbike lines" which eliminate the second banjo fitting/bolt at the caliper and instead thread directly into the caliper. I've not had any experience with them myself, but supposedly there is some risk of crimping the line if you don't make a shallow enough bend coming out of the caliper. Makes sense based on what I know about cable bending, in which the rule of thumb is never to bend the cable with a radius of less than 10x the diameter -> for 1/4 inch hose that would mean that you want to have an arc with at least a 4 inch radius, though I'm not sure how much it carries over so don't use these numbers. Read more about it here.

Honklfucker you should have put the discalimer in your post that not only should you not be allowed to touch tools, also that you should not give others advice on wrenching on bikes.

Granted you have never worked on any of my bikes but just from your trials and tribulations of you many posts I have come to this conclusion.

Plus he forgot to add that you are NOT supposed to leave objects such as sockets between the brake pads after they are installed.
