    Fellow EX500-ers....

Anyone have some 17" rear suspension linkage parts? mainly the nuts & bolts that hold everything together. Peter Kates nearly shat himself when he took a closer look at my rear suspension as i kinda figured he would... it's completely frankenstiened together and stuff moves around even though the nuts & bolts are cranked down.

needless to say..... i'm not happy

Leave it alone, it seems to be working.

Heh...... yeah, if the bike is good for a 26 flat w/ me on it now.... just think what i can do if i can get the rear suspension to actually work WITH me instead of against me

As it sits, the rear is about an inch or two too low, the rear linkage is all lose even though everything that could be tightened was tightened (need spacers & shit to make it work right), the rear shock is apparently too soft and the damping action of the shock is fucked up. Peter wouldn't even work on it at the track.

Good thing the deciding factor in me buying this bike was the suspension... I sure got what I paid for, huh? I may as well return it to stock

    Fellow EX500-ers....

Pete-I'll look through my box of parts to see what I got.
I know I have a stock rear chock- not sure about the linkage.

Thanks Mike... It'd be helpful if you can just grab whatever 17" suspension stuff you've got. I'm pretty sure between the cheap bastids & others, we could probably build at least 2 more EX500 race ready bikes just outta the parts we have

Don't lose too much sleep over it man. Get it fixed and all that, but don't beat yourself up.

Seriously, you've been riding great and the bike hasn't given you any handling issues (like trying to kill you mid corner). Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Cheap Bastid Racing: Ignorance is Bliss I like the sound of that

Yeah, I'm not gonna beat myself up much about it... Only reason why i'm upset about it is cuz i bought the bike for the suspension setup with the assumption that it's set up much better than stock & now it's clear as day that it's not performing the way it should.
