    assistance with steering lock

So someone tried stealing my R6 and left it so I cant unlock the steering lock with my key. Being that this bike rarely sees the street (its my primary trackbike), I figure that I remove the steering lock assembly and run the ignition wires to the kill switch. Can anyone assist me with how I can go about doing this.

I know ppl may be worried about thieves seeing this so send me a PM and we can talk via email/aim. Thanks alot for your help.

If you look down, you go down. That may be fun at an orgy, but it sucks on a bike

Terry this is easy you can wire in a switch then will turn the bike on and off much like a kill switch on a drag car

Sorry to hear about the attempted theft Terry.

If you need a place to store your bike I know people.

Feel free to bring it to casa de Tricky Mike if you want a warm place to work on it.

not sure if you have a service manual for the bike, but for my ex there was a complete ignition wiring diagram in the back. to bypass the key, you just end up connecting the wire coming into the ignition switch directly to the one coming out of it. that bypasses the key and uses your kill switch as the "on/off switch" and your start button will still turn it over. i doubt it will be one wire in one wire out though, there will probably be a harness and a connector, so thus the diagram. it will show you what color wires to hack.

and not sure if your r6 has one of those coded keys either, that may make a difference too.

    Move... out... of... the... 'hood!!!

And this just proves that the thieves in your 'hood are idiots. They try to steal a rashed R6, with a mint R1 sitting right next to it...
