    Fiberglass and tank repairs

I know of Empire GP for fairing and tank repair, but they're all the way out in Montour Falls, NY. Not easy to get to in a cage. It's a 6 hour ride. And shipping all of my race plastics and the tank would cost a small fortune.

Is there any place that is more local that does fiberglass and tank work? The SV has some body and tank damage and I do not feel comfortable doing the work that would be required to make it better again. (what I really mean to say is that I am to friggin' lazy to do it.)

I think that tails done being pretty.
Oh and basic fiberglassing isnt that tough. I taught myself, and got my results to be at least 1/2 decent for the racebikes.

Yeah, but it's not longer Dan's bike, so it isn't meant to look like shit anymore.

I live in south central, MA on the Woonsocket, RI line.

My biggest question is, is the tail section even repairable? It has about 10 cracks in it.

OK then, should I just get new plastics all around? What does that normally run? $1K? $1500? More?

    Re: Fiberglass and tank repairs

imo, i would toss it down the track a couple of time before making it pretty...that $$ would probably be better spent on spares or tires.. That being said I am sure most body shops would be able to do it...also, it maybe cheaper to buy a new tail and have that one fixed.

Then IF I decide to scrap it, you can have it for posterity.

I think I remember Dan saying that you wanted that tail anyway.

Well, I had a tear-down party today. Well, a party of one. I took off all the bodywork, made a small adjustment (raised the front of the tank off the frame).

Since Dan said I would probably need a new subframe for a new set of plastics, I removed that as well.
