K&N Filter?

The K&N Filter is $53 online for my bike, the dealer wants $51 for the stock one..

Is it worth it to just get the K&N since it can be cleaned? Or would lean out the mixture enough for me to notice?

I like the K&N filters, and have them on all my vehicles.
They have the added benefit in that they don't swell from moisture like a paper element would.

If you stay with stock, try here for parts:

They have online parts fiche, pricing, and ordering. Your filter is around $30. They also have the K&N's. Shipping is a flat $7 for orders up to $100, so would pay to grab any other items you might need, like oil filters or even a second air filter. They have awesome pricing and are always cheaper when I compare prices.

There's a *CHANCE* you'd need to adjust your carbs if you install one. Either way, the K&N's are well worth it...

I bet if you asked around here, you'd find someone that could help you out with the carb thing too. He even works cheap...

Ben, you won't have to do anything unless you open the snorkle up.
The airbox is physically restricted....

I heard the K&N's don't work well with the SV, but that's just what I've heard

Just remember it doesn't say anywhere on the K & N filter that it "filters" better than or equal to stock. It says it "flows" more air than stock, that sounds like less filtering to me, how else do you increase flow? Now it may not matter, but certainly something to keep in mind.

There are other aftermarket reusable filters out there, Uni comes to mind as one.......
