    finally bought bike/carb question

i just bought a 94 Suzuki rf600r,it has only 7k miles on it,exterior looks great but the bike idles fine and everything but when around 8000 rpm and higher the bike hesitates a lot, i put some sea foam in and mixed it around and ran the bike on choke for a while, should it do the trick?

Do main jets really clog? I'd think the pilots would be clogged long befroe the mains. Can't say I've ever had to clean a main jet on any engine.

I'd be looking at ignition components.

Check your fuel filters and that gas flows good out of the petcocks as a cheap (0$) easy first step.

More than likely the filter is in the tank attached to the petcock assembly.

If you haven't done it already new plugs are never a bad bet on a bike you just bought.

And also check the gas cap for a plugged air vent. In another words verify that you are getting enough fuel into the carbs to support higher RPM's.

Yeah, it sounds to me like it may be a fuel flow issue....

Easiest way to check is to pull the fuel line where it attaches to the carbs, stick the line in a fuel can & check the flow.

Check the petcock. Is it vacuum actuated? Does it have a "prime" position? If so, try running in that.

If that doesn't work, perhaps it's a float level issue?

im with pete, check float levels.

    How is your spark?

Are all the hoses/vents hooked up correctly? That causes issues sometimes. May have issues if float bowls need to be pressurized and a hose is dicsonnected or something.
