    Float Bowl Screws

Im gonna need to easy out a couple screwed on my CRF250 float bowl. Is there a way to find out what screw that is and see if I can get it locally rather than the "official" Honda part that I need to pay 8 dollars for at the dealership, or 14 dollars to ship 3 screws from an online company?

    Part NUmber: 93892-04014-08

    Re: Float Bowl Screws

Googling the part number, this is the first hit: 93892-414-8 SCREW-WASHER (4X14)

Based on that, I'm guessing a 4X14 screw would do the job.

Of course, we just need to wait a bit and Kurlon will set us straight.

If you're going to the bother of purchasing, Allen head stainless is much nicer.

    Re: Float Bowl Screws

Roland is correct, based on the PN those should be M4 screws, 14mm long. The link Roland provided will work, or you can grab allen head hardware as well. If going allen head, remember that it's very easy to overtorque that size screw.

This is metric hardware so it's as easy as M4x14

Should be fairly easy to find, but if your local hardware store doesn't have one and you have a hobby shop around they'll have bags of them cheap, it's a common RC screw.

Those screws are JIS screws. Using a Phillips on them is stripped - head suicide.

Roland is spot on. Also +1 for getting allen head. Also spring for a a set of JIS screw sticks. They are not cheap but worth every friggin penny.

The original part also mentioned a washer, just in case you missed that part.

I can just reuse those off the old screws though, right?

The experts say yes, but I just wanted to mention it in case the originals got damaged somehow.

We need to rename the "tech" section to the Kurlon section.

I've never seen Kurlon as happy as the day I rebuilt my motor at the track and I let him fondle the internals.

    Re: Float Bowl Screws

Unless you snapped the head off, just cut a slot in the head with a dremel to use a flathead screwdriver.
Then take them down to your local Ace or True Value hardware store (not Home Depot or lowes) and get the right length Allen head stainless screws.

And use the JIS screwdriver that came in your bikes toolkit next time.
