OK the manula calls for: 370cc in Left fork & 358cc in Right fork (I understand tthat) Then the oil level (which is where I figured that tool would come in at) 153mm
    (qoute from manual)
*Oil level is messured from the top of the tube w/ the fork spring removed and the tube fully compressed.

Any comments????????( I gotta get this done this week end)

Don't worry about that, Mark. I'll show you what to do. In fact, I still have the makeshift 'tool' we used for when we revalved and resprung the forks on my racebike. I'll letchya use it...

...it's only a small wooden dowel thatchya put two scores on. One to line up with the top of the fork tube, the other at the presciribed height...

or you can just measure the amount of oil in CC's like the spec says. personally i have a syringe designed for adding fork/other oil that has CC's marked on the side. I just add the required number of CC's and leave it at that. The only time I had to measure the level (in mm) was when I added progressive springs to the front, and for that I just used a narrow ruler... If you would like to borrow the fork oil syringe I have with marked CC's I'd be more than happy to lend it to you.

The tool I have is just like the tool on that link you posted... real handy...

    Cheers,
    Chris

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

Well I use a ol' broom handle and messured it for the correct oil height then made a score mark on the stick. Used it as a dip stick and it worked great......Although if I do it agian I would like to but the kit which I think would make the process a bit faster.
Ant how thanks for the advice everyone
