Went from stock 150lb OEM springs and 14 year old black as my heart fork oil...to racetech 195lb springs customized to me with a 10w oil. Took me and a buddy 2hrs. Best 110 bucks ever spent.

My superhawk is an entirely new bike. That is all.

My superhawk needs the same treatment. How would I go about getting similar springs?

Search for racetech springs on any of the bike sites. Motorcyclesuperstore, bikebandit, etc or go to your local dealer and order them up. Be sure to save your stock washers, the ones that came with my kit were 2mm too big for the forks :/

I've been needing to service the forks on my bike. I am a little hesitant to go to those sporty race springs, is it now ridiculously harsh over bumps and stuff?

Thanks, I work at a Honda dealer so I'll get them on order tomorrow!

What do you guys do about putting air in the forks? (Assuming most bikes are air?)
My mechanic's guide insists on using a proper "shock pump", but I'm not sure if that's really neccesary or not. I know most stuff in these manuals is solid advice, but I'm just suprised by the lack of market out there for these tools, that makes me wonder if anyone uses them.

springs are springs. get what's appropriate for you and your bike. the bike will ride much better once you do it.

I usually just hand it over to PK with my credit card.

Not many forks have air valves. What type of bike is that on?

49 states do it one way, and Massachusetts does it their own way.

I did a lot of work on my carbs tonight too, based on his recommendation. She purrs like a kitten now. That guy is good.

Bike in sig, Gpz900R. It's old. And your statement also explains the lack of market. Any old-timers have experience with air, and if the requirement of a dedicated shock pump is over-precautious? I did read that air should be added slowly and progressively, but I still don't see why a simple bike pump can't do that.

My pilot jets were too small. Upped them. Resynced. He told me that the bike felt jerky with only a tiny amount of throttle.

48's so far 2.25 running a tad bit lean still. Don't forget I am running a dynojet kit and aftermarket exhaust. yours will vary.

    Re: Forks

Cool thanks. I've got stock jetting/air filter with slips ons. Exploring what seems to work best. I've heard plugging one slide hole on the front carb helps as well.
