    Fuse for transformer?

Should I add a fuse to this? Or is it not needed? I was thinking of adding one between the battery and the transformer. This is for a Garmin GPS.

I guess I should read the manual....it says no fuse required. Should I add one anyway?

How much is the Garmin worth and how much is a fuse? I would, but I fuse everything needed or not if you're getting into the wires might as well do it.

    IMHO

Is there any chance they're internally fused? If not, 100% add one.

If there is any length of wire from the power source to the transformer, then yes. That fuse will prevent arcing should the insulation get compromised.

    FIFY

If you connect that directly to the positive post of the battery and something pinches that wire anywhere along its length or some internal short happens there is no protection for your bike. It will heat up and drain current at a rapid rate until either the wire burns through or the bike burns to the ground. Fusing as close as possible to the battery will help to prevent issues like that from destroying your bike.

    Re: Fuse for transformer?

I added an inline blade type fuse holder, but now I'm wondering if a low profile fuse block might look cleaner. I now have 3 fuses devices off the battery.

What's everyone using for fuse blocks? It needs to be as small as possible, since I don't have much room. I see some cheap ones on Amazon and others that cost $50 and up.
