The (not so) Great Gixxer Rebuild

no, but i've heard it's good scheduled maintenance (i'm sure Noel will call me stupid now) to rebuild the caliper after so many years. my bike is approaching 8 years & near 30k miles. a $60 seal kit & an hour of your time in a heated garage over a boring winter seemed worth it to me. plus i found that my right caliper was cracked on the inside, so it was a good thing I happened to check.

i've said it to many of you, i enjoy working on bikes more than riding them. so yes, i probably go overkill on winter projects on my bike. so where you may not want or need to do this stuff on your Yamaha & Honda, I'd probably be doing the same thing if I owned your bike instead of a GSXR.

no, you just ask for custom heel guards to match your woodcraft rearsets, SB tails, tank sponges to avoid sloshing, why your front wheel rubs the pads, and ask for enough people to tell you to upgrade rotors.

All true. But I haven't rebuilt the calipers on Annalisa's bike and it's twice as old as yours is.

And the rubbing pads issue is due to new and thicker pads and rotors. They will loosen up with use.
