GSX-R headlight wiring

identify this plug.
It's something to do with my headlights, but I can't seem to find it in my service manual.
I'd really like to know what each wire is for, as I'm having issues with my low-beam.

it's on the right side fairing.
middle plug is the directional, bottom plug is the main wire harness plug I think.

already worked on it yesterday & the low-beam is working (as of this morning).
just not sure if i permanently fixed it.

ok. I just looked all through the manual and couldn't find anything either

Have you looked for a wiring diagram? That will tell you what that plug is for based on the wire colors.

That doesn't mean the wires aren't in the wiring diagram (assuming they connect somewhere else as well). The connector might not be in there, but you should at least be able to determine what the wires are.

i'll have to look at the diagram again.
i was just pointing out that the service manual was already checked & there was no need to link a PDF copy of the service manual.

on top of what Jim said, i looked specifically for a color-coded wiring diagram, but there isn't one in the manual. i was going to attempt to trace every wire by color

What year gsxr is it? I looked at the diagram for the 2010 600 and couldn't find a white with green stripe or white with blue stripe, so I hope that isn't the bike.

page 348 is the closest thing to any kind of help, but i can't make sense of it based on the wire colors at that switch. if i saw it in person i'm sure i could trace it.

FYI, the wiring is on the RIGHT side
I took the left fairing off yesterday before tracing the wires from the housing on the left clip-on

I found that too and looked at it a few times, but couldn't match the wires up

K1 = 2001
K2 = 2002
etc

The only wires I could match up were ones that didn't make a whole lot of sense.

White w/blue stripe = cylinder one coil/spark plug

Red w/purple stripe = fuel pump

Can't find white w/green stripe anywhere, can't easily identify the others to look.

Ian, i'm pointing out that I took the left fairing off first. Just trying to save you some dope slaps if you look at Pat's bike.

the fuel pump definately isn't in that plug that i circled on post 1.
the fuel pump is in the bigger plug at the bottom of the 3 pictured.

I see a about 16 wires coming through both of those connectors, and if you look at the wiring diagram, there are 16 wires coming through 2 separate connectors just below the cluster. I believe those are your connections, and maybe there are some wire color differences between years.

2001-2003 600cc = 2000-2003 750cc = 2001-2002 1000cc

not sure when i can get Pat to let me look at that, since he just got everything painted and put it on, but i'll see what i can do. if you want to take it apart again some evening, let me know

I don't doubt that at all. I don't think the diagram exactly matches the bike, so I figured by pointing out that the colors don't make sense others wouldn't waste too much time digging through to match up colors.

No because they kept the 600 wire harness. The 01-03 750 headlight is a simple plug-n-play swap. You just swap the headlamp and the H4 plugs to the bulbs. The stock H3 bulbs were just cut off & the H4 plugs were crimped to the OEM wiring.
