    Re: H4 bulbs --> H7

    so, i ended up shipping the headlight back to the seller. it's been a week since it's been delivered (per FedEx tracking). I just sent the seller a PM asking if he's had a chance to inspect the package so he can PayPal me the refund (original transaction was PayPal). his response was NO.

    how long should I wait till I file a claim with PayPal? I don't see this ending well. Or are there any other approaches I should take first? I offered for him to refund me minus the 3% fee, so the whole transaction doesnt cost him anything.

    I just checked the tracking online & looks like the headlight was delivered back to you on Mar 25, 2010 12:15 PM. Have you had a chance to inspect everything, so you can PayPal the refund?

    NO
    ok thanks. i need the money back, so i can order the correct one to get my bike ready. i'm sorry for the inconvenience, but mistakes do happen.

    Do you have his phone number? If not send him another message stating you need the refund and give him a deadline. If said deadline passes file a claim. Ensure deadline falls within the window you have to file a claim.

    since the PM's have been sent this morning, what time frame should I give him before giving a deadline & threatening to file a claim with PayPal. Keep in mind that it's been 6 days since the package was delivered back to him, and today is the 1st time I've had any response since 3/21.

    Sorry, but there is no way I can sell this light to someone else after you have taken it apart and whatnot.
    his reply. now i said to refund my $ by april 7 or i will file a claim. this is bullshit that there is nothing i could have "taken apart". i took the bulbs out and tested them on my harness, and nothing else. i think he's just trying to be a ball buster.

    that's ridiculous - seller clearly states below that he will refund your money and goes on to note that he was unaware there were changes to bulb/harness, which is the sole reason you requested to return it.

    if he doesn't change his tone today, file a complaint right away. he still has the option to resolve it even if you have a pending issue - there is no reason not to move forward with paypal, especially considering his sudden change of tone.

    Re: H4 bulbs --> H7

    I got a euro replacement headlight assembly last year to replaced my scratched up one.

    The US assembly uses a single H4 low beam and dual H7 high beams. It doesn't use the second fillament in the H4 for the high beams.
    The Euro assembly uses three H7's. One for low, the other two for high. Operates the same way as the US, just uses an H7 for the low instead of H4.

    I just put the proper bulbs in it and pulled the wires out of the plugs and put them on the bulbs directly so I wouldn't have to worry about anything.

    If I were you, I woulda just altered the wiring to work the way the headlight was designed.

    Screw ebay returns... if what you buy is in good shape but not exactly what you wanted, re-sell the friggin thing instead of dealing with returning it to a pain in the ass seller who may or may not refund you your money.

    i asked for an 01-03 GSXR 600 headlight, and that's what he sent me.
    after doing some research, i discovered that my bike has a 750 assembly with a 750 bulb harness. so i made the mistake, and admitted the mistake.

    Don't know what to tell you then man. Ebay stores tend to suck with returns and what not and being that you made the mistake I don't know what grounds you have for a claim.

    wasnt off eBay. it was off WERA. the seller just offered a refund minus the PayPal 3% fee and $20 for his time and diesel gas to drive to FedEx. it's better than nothing, so i accepted. we'll see if the transfer happens.

    oh and minus the $15 it cost for me to ship it back. so it cost me $40 for no headlight

    i also said that mistakes happen. but he has no way of testing this headlight to make sure it works, and he suspects that i screwed with it just to rip him off.

    so he was refusing to open the package, even though i told him that i only took the bulbs out to test with my wire harness (noted in this thread).

    i'll just be happy when it's done with and i get a partial credit back

    Re: H4 bulbs --> H7

    well after 3 calls to PayPal and asking them to resend another email, i finally got a partial refund. he wanted 3% for PayPal fees and $20 for diesel gas for the 7 mile round trip to the nearest FedEx that it cost him from the original shipment.

    not the end result i had expected, but it's at least something. i'm out $40 total between his demands and my cost ($15) to ship the item back to him
