    Starting Problem

I've been having a small issue with my bike from time to time. If I don't ride her for several hours she starts up just fine. Once I go to start her back up after a few minutes of being shut off she wont start back up and I have to jump her. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?

Remove your battery, check for fluid levels, possibly charge after topping up.

Did you do this? It may just be a battery issue IMO.

    How old is your battery?
Do you use a trickle charger?
    Have you tested it?

    Re: Starting Problem

More times than not, the battery is weak or one of the cells is gone.
If you don't use trickle chargers (especially during the winter months) then you should expect to have to replace the battery every 2-3 years.

Charging systems on bikes are different than cars. Taking off the cables while running, does not yield the same results as in a car.

If you're near Brighton, MA. I have a charger/tester you can borrow.

Probably 8 miles of city driving. 15-30 minutes depending on traffic.

I'm going to the Larz Anderson today for Tuto Italiano. If you're going let me know and I'll bring the charger with me. Or for $60 I can mail you your very own.
