    Independent Mechanic

Can anyone recommend an independent mechanic, or should I just bring my bike to a dealership. I've had an issue with the bike overheating since last year. I've changed the coolant, pump and thermostat and it still happens. Basically once the bike heats up, it stalls pretty quickly once I get stuck in traffic. I'm at a loss now, so I think I'm better off just bringing it to someone else to deal with.

Fan not coming on? Airpocket sounds possible too. Does the bike have a bleeder valve anywhere in the system?

crack the water pump's drain bolt until it starts leaking out coolant. obviously put a pan under there to catch what coolant comes out.
take the radiator cap off and see if the fluid is topped off. make sure the reservior is about 1/3 full.
turn the bike on with the cap off.
Keep it running until the thermostat kicks in. many inline bikes are around 150 degrees Fahrenheit. you'll know when it kicks in when a good portion of the coolant gets sucked down.
if this happens, top off the fluid again, cap it, and shut the bike off.
if it never happens, then you have a thermostat issue.

That's never good could be a bad head gasket, open the radiator and if u see constant bubbles you could be getting combustion pressure in ur coolant.

But it could just be a clogged radiator, fans not working or an air bubbles

How hot does it get before it stalls? Is there a temperature gauge that's in the red or alarming in some manner? I'm simply trying to correlate the stalling with overheating.

Appreciate the referrals guys but degsys all night discount bike service shop is closed for business. I have a bunch of projects that will be taking up my time and I'm service manager at adrenaline cycle now so it's a bit of a conflict of interest also.

Having said that, the first thing you need is a compression test.
