How to install wheel bearings and oil seals

I think I have a good idea how to do it. Heat the hub a little and make sure the bearings are cold (freezer). Use a socket to hammer them in hitting only the outer race. Am I missing anything specific?

Also, the inner-hub spacers are kinda loose inside the hub. These are the 4 inch long spacers that sit inside the hub itself. Their OD is much smaller than the hub ID. Do I have to do anything special to center them or will the axle do that on its own? And the oil seals have a flat side and a ribbed side. I don't have my bike here - does anyone know which side faces out? Is it different front vs rear?

I just got my extra set of rims so thats why I'm asking all these dumb questions. I've never installed bearings or oil seals before and the fiche and service manual aren't specific enough.

Sounds like you have it under control. Stick the bearings in the freezer and use a torch to heat up the hub a bit. The bearings should push in by hand if you are quick about it.

The center spacer will be set in place by the axle when you push it through.

Any idea on the oil seals? I think flat side goes in facing the hub?
