    SV650 Castle Nut Tool

Anyone in the South Shore / Metro West area have one they'd be willing to loan out? I'm looking to swap out my front end this weekend.

    Re: SV650 Castle Nut Tool

If the SV nut is the same size nut that was on the TL1000R, I have it in Upton MA.

[Edit] - According to this product, it looks like they should be the same as long as you're talking about a 2nd gen SV650 http://komotodraggin.com/steering.html. I'll measure it up when home tonight if it helps.

My hero. Yes, it's a 2nd gen. If I can't get my hands on one a bit more local to Brockton I'll be in touch.

    Sounds good.

The tool I have has 6 teeth with an ID inside the teeth of a hair over 38mm.

Don't suppose that's the same tool you'd use to remove the swingarm from an '04 GSXR-600?

It's got a castle nut on it, but I'm not sure what size and I need to change swingarms...

The swingarm and steering castle nut are different but the one in the picture looks like the one for engine mount?

    I ordered their "set" http://komotodraggin.com/toolset.html

A pair of channel locks with padded jaws worked a treat.

JIS screwdrivers/bits if you go digging around under the tank. Other than the really big sockets I haven't run across anything that wasn't doable with what came in a $100 assorted tool set from Northern Tool I picked up a while back.

JIS drivers and bits are a must if working on ANY japanese motorcycle. Means you can actually reuse the carb screws they form out of butter.
