    Mixing Oils

I am winterizing my bikes but I only have about 80% of the oil i need to do an oil change.

I have Mobil1 10w-40 synthetic for my Triumph and Motul 5100 10w-40 for my SV.

I just placed a Motul order for 7100. Can I top off both bikes with 7100?

There is no benefit to synthetic oil and it gives babies cancer.

    Re: Mixing Oils

I've always insisted on full synthetic, and generally on an oil specifically designed for motorcycles (although my bike is a dry clutch, so that's less critical than on most bikes). I have not worried ever about which brand, or about mixing different brands -- that's not a significant issue, IMHO.

I'll let it slide this time because you haven't been here for a full winter cycle yet but you aren't supposed to provide any helpful information in an oil thread especially as we approach the colder months.

What bad things are going to happen if you only fill it 80 percent full?

    Re: Mixing Oils

Mixing oils is okay. In fact lots of oil companies do it. They call it synthetic blend. But we don't even get the percentages. At least when we do it we know the %'s.
