    WANTED: Motorcycle Service Jobs (Private)

So I do not have the time to learn/perform the following work and would like to know if anyone can recommend someone who is very proficient in motorcycle service jobs. Looks like shops all around are pretty booked up so I am researching other venues to get the bike ready for a late May or June track day. Any recommendations on people who privately do work on motorcycles? I will want references too since I don't want any old hack job doing the work. Here is the list of things I need done.

    • Install new front and rear sprockets
    • Install new chain
    • Install stock rear suspension link (it currently has a lowering link)
    • Raise Triple Tree
    • Install new tires

Please let me know if you know anyone as I would like to get this done soon. Thanks!

    WIL

With 2 people this should take only about a 12 pack.

All basic tools except chain tool and mount/dismount bar.

This is for my ZX6R...not taking a chance of the 848 going down on the track.

Everything is ready to go...I believe I have everything to tie it down to the bed of my truck and transport it too.

PM me if you want to be the lucky guy...I guess I can trust you, hahaha.

As much as I'd love to do it, I can't violate my insurance, but I can ask a couple guys around here.

It would be great to work on it together with someone but I figured that the person would only have time to work on it at night if they had a full time job so I could drop it off and they could take a few nights to complete the job. I have already done a lot of research on what it would take to get these things installed and probably could get 80% of it done on my own, its just those situations when I am just stuck and not knowing what the next efficient step would be. Lets just say, I don't want to tear the thing apart and then get stuck and not be able to transport it over to someone who can finish the job. I also don't have a chain rivet tool and for some reason that scares me, ha!

Being swamped is a good thing for you guys! If I cannot find someone to get this stuff done then I'll get in touch with you guys and bring the bike down on the weekend and leave it with you guys to slowly get everything installed. Thanks Derek!

You're kidding right? The track is the place to get your tires mounted.

Tire part is the easiest...and the only thing that we ALWAYS do.

So don't worry about the tires.

Again, nothing here is real hard... it would just be a matter of having the couple of hours to do it.

If you can get the other stuff done ahead of time.. do it. Worst case, we can deal with it at the track on Sunday night.

Yeah, I would definitely want to take care of everything before hand to make things easier. After missing the entire season last year, I am itchin' to get back out there...lets hope my torn ACL can handle it...

Will do. I've been to past TTDs and BoMo but skipped last year after tearing my left ACL again. I decided not to have surgery but I just started running outside again (2 times now) and hope that it will hold up at a track day. Lets just say that I will be taking a few Advils to numb the pain and swelling.

btw. I think Ray-Ray is going to help me out.

Re: WANTED: Motorcycle Service Jobs (Private)

that stuff is really pretty easy. are you north, south or west of Boston? I've done all that stuff myself except changing tires but like Tony said that's easily done at the track. I'd be willing to help but it wouldn't be till after the next race weekend cause I'm pretty busy right through that weekend. do you have rear sets on the bike? that makes the rear link even easier to do cause you wouldn't have to figure out a way to support the rear.
