    Maintenance Day For Newbies?

Would there be any interest in a 'intro to basic maintenance' type thing for you guys? It'd be like a 'get to know how to...' on your bikes. Basic stuff like changing oil & filters, pulling the plugs, checking your air filter, maybe even changing hydraulic fluids...

It'd be pretty much a day long thang, and we'd do it up at my place (Center Nowhere, NH). You bring the shit you wanna change (oil/filters/air filter/DOT-whatever for your hydraulics), and I'll show ya how to do it. READ: I'm not gonna do it FOR you, I will show you HOW and HELP along the way should you need it. You WILL get your hands dirty...

But, it'll cost ya a $$ donation to the site. And we all pitch in for lunch...

I'm thinking like, THREE bikes for now. If I can get someone else to come up and help me out, we MAY be able to bump that number up...

    How does it sound?

    Newbies?

Hey, I'd be more than willing to come up to show some people how to do these things. Another thing I would add to the list of 'simple things you should know how to do' is brake pads/brake bleeding... Depending on the date, I could certainly come up and show some folks how to do the basic maintenance on their bikes.

But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

Levers should be pretty easy. Replaced the brake lever on my kawi, just one screw and the lever came off. If you can, get a lever with the little dial span adjuster so you can fit it to your hands right, makes life a lot easier.

NO INTEREST??? With all the emails & PM's I've gotten, I woulda thought you'd all be knocking down the door for this. This would be a much better platform than doing it one bike at a whack. You'd also get a chance to see other things done that may not necessarily be needed for yours...

You'll be AMAZED at how much $$ you'll save over the long run learning how to do the basics yourselves...
